More often than not, potty training a child turns fruitful only for peeing. Pooping on the potty seems more difficult. This is not just your problem, many parents face it. When your child poops in his pants, never punish them for doing so. They will grow more regressive towards learning. Take simple steps to make it a happy experience for your child to poop on potty.

- Once your child has learned to pee on potty, it is potty training for pooping that is to be learned. You can add handles to both the sides of the potty to make his stay comfortable on the potty. It usually takes longer for kids to poop and hence they grow frustrated sitting on a potty for long.

- Mostly kids grunt during pooping. Thus, it is imperative for them to be comfortable while pooping. If you are using normal height toilet, make sure to put a stool or support under your kid’s legs. If he feels comfortable, he will not realize the time spent on potty.

- Encourage him to poop in the potty. If he is resistant, take him to bathroom. Let him do it the way he is comfortable and then empty his pull-up in the potty. This will show him the right place for pooping.

- Let your kids learn that diaper-free way is to go to potty. In their potty training, teach them pooping separately. When their diaper is full of poop, kids want it to be changed. For this, they will grab your attention someway. While changing their diaper, make them sit on the potty and empty their diaper there. This way they will know where the poop is supposed to go.

- Make them wear loose pants so that they enjoy the feeling of being diaper-free. Nobody likes bulky diapers getting in their way while walking.

- If you ask kids to go poop, they will say no. Try taking them to potty for pooping at different times of the day. When they poop at the right place, celebrate as if it is their success. Give a high-five and cheer them for the right thing they did.

- If your kid is too persistent in pooping in their pull-ups. Do not yell at them. Just ask them to tell you when they are ready to do it in potty. Take them with you to the toilet when you go. Part of potty training is to teach them the way other people do it in the house.

It is a beautiful experience to teach your child little things. Pooping is a part of potty training which is necessary for every child. Your patience will teach them more effectively and efficiently, but your anger may make the kid more resistant. Think of fun ways to make them feel comfortable so they want to do it the right way. Prepare a potty dance and do it whenever they pee in potty so that they are encouraged to poop there as well.
