Your first try at potty training your child can be the most difficult part of the toddler years. For this, you need to be patient, so that you can handle your child lovingly. Hence, it is important that you choose three days around which there is no other activity happening. You ought to be stress-free and patient while teaching your kid this vital activity of his life. Learn more about potty training in 3 days successfully.

Day One:

- The day you decide to start the potty training in three days, wake up with your child.

- Let him go around without pants the whole day. Show him the diapers and tell him that he will not need them anymore. Make him feel comfortable without a diaper.

- Whenever you see signs that your child wants to pee or poop, take him to the nearest toilet. Make him feel acclaimed to sit on the potty. Show him a potty dance or gig that you have prepared so that he realizes he did a good thing.

- Initially, demonstrate for your child by going to toilet with him. Pull your pants down. Show him that you sit on a potty to go pee and poop in it. Pull your pants up and flush the toilet. Then wash your hands. He will learn more effectively by seeing.

- Accidents will happen, but do not yell at your child when he poops in pants. Just show him that you are disappointed by this. Clean the poop by taking his hands in yours so that he feels a part of it.

Day Two:

- Apart from the day one activities, take your child out of the house just after he has used potty.

- The goal is to train him to use potty when he feels the need. Therefore, do not make him wear any diaper, but carry a spare set of clothes in case of accidents.

- Tell him that without a diaper, he cannot poop unless it is in a toilet. Carry a portable potty with you for showing him that he has an option.

- Always keep it close to your house for emergency purposes. Sometimes your child may want to poop but not in the portable potty.

Day Three:

- Go out of the house immediately after your child uses potty. This time go out for a longer period, say an hour. Carry your portable potty along.

- When going to daycare, let your child wear only loose pants without a diaper. Give him a feel of training.

- Before going to bed, always make him go to potty. Tell him it is time. You can use diaper while sleeping for avoiding poop.

This routine should be continued for as long as the child needs to become a potty pro in three days. It is best learned when you have a free mind and time for your child. Hence, choose the time wisely.

More often than not, potty training a child turns fruitful only for peeing. Pooping on the potty seems more difficult. This is not just your problem, many parents face it. When your child poops in his pants, never punish them for doing so. They will grow more regressive towards learning. Take simple steps to make it a happy experience for your child to poop on potty.

- Once your child has learned to pee on potty, it is potty training for pooping that is to be learned. You can add handles to both the sides of the potty to make his stay comfortable on the potty. It usually takes longer for kids to poop and hence they grow frustrated sitting on a potty for long.

- Mostly kids grunt during pooping. Thus, it is imperative for them to be comfortable while pooping. If you are using normal height toilet, make sure to put a stool or support under your kid’s legs. If he feels comfortable, he will not realize the time spent on potty.

- Encourage him to poop in the potty. If he is resistant, take him to bathroom. Let him do it the way he is comfortable and then empty his pull-up in the potty. This will show him the right place for pooping.

- Let your kids learn that diaper-free way is to go to potty. In their potty training, teach them pooping separately. When their diaper is full of poop, kids want it to be changed. For this, they will grab your attention someway. While changing their diaper, make them sit on the potty and empty their diaper there. This way they will know where the poop is supposed to go.

- Make them wear loose pants so that they enjoy the feeling of being diaper-free. Nobody likes bulky diapers getting in their way while walking.

- If you ask kids to go poop, they will say no. Try taking them to potty for pooping at different times of the day. When they poop at the right place, celebrate as if it is their success. Give a high-five and cheer them for the right thing they did.

- If your kid is too persistent in pooping in their pull-ups. Do not yell at them. Just ask them to tell you when they are ready to do it in potty. Take them with you to the toilet when you go. Part of potty training is to teach them the way other people do it in the house.

It is a beautiful experience to teach your child little things. Pooping is a part of potty training which is necessary for every child. Your patience will teach them more effectively and efficiently, but your anger may make the kid more resistant. Think of fun ways to make them feel comfortable so they want to do it the right way. Prepare a potty dance and do it whenever they pee in potty so that they are encouraged to poop there as well.

When looking for a Potty Training Toilet Seat there are a few things to consider. The market is flooded with different products for every need your child has. You head can spin when researching these items and when it comes to potty training you want to make sure you find something that fits your child’s needs. This is a rough time for many parents so every decision you make can have an impact on how quick or slow your child take to going on the potty.

The first thing we did for my son when starting the training was to give him his very own potty training toilet seat. It was a stand alone potty that had a removeable piece to clean it out after the child goes. This worked well for him at first but after he observed our habits he was quick to want to try the big boy potty.

The perfect potty training toilets -

can make the task much easier. We bought him a soft plastic insert that fits on top of most toilet seats and is made to fit a behind of his size. Obviously he had a hard time getting up on the potty so we had a stool in front of the toilet. This can be cumbersome at first due to the fact that you have to move the stool and insert whenever you need to use the potty.

He kind of went back and forth between the two for a while until he really started to feel comfortable getting up on the big potty. Now he is a pro and we even got him to put his removable insert on and off as needed and move his stool into place. When you first start potty training a child you never imagine that they will become so self sufficient but they do in no time!

One product that I did notice was an attachment that hooks on to the existing seat and flips down and up just like a toilet seat. We actually tried it at a friend’s house and it was great. I know they also make potty training toilets seat that replaces the existing seat and has that same insert on it to accommodate your child. Good luck on your quest to find the perfect seat!

It is no easy task to potty train child. The most important advice I received during the process of potty training my son was to “be patient”. It most certainly wasn’t what I wanted to hear during this extremely stressful time for my wife and I, but it was great advice in hindsight.

Make sure your child is physically ready. Can your child walk in a confident manner? Is he or she able to pull their pants down and sit on the potty? At very least they must be able to walk over to a potty chair, pull their pants and “pull up” down. You want to make sure your child is coordinated enough to sit on a potty seat or toilet insert without falling in. I know it sounds funny, but why push something as life changing as potty training if your child is not 100% ready?

Can your child hold their pee or poop while in the car for a short ride? Can he or she hold it long enough to make it to the bathroom after you get the picture that they may have to go. This is really important. If a child doesn’t have basic bladder or bowel control then they are not ready to potty train.

Ready For Potty Training Your Child?

Can your child communicate to you? Before you potty train child be sure they can communicate well enough to tell you they need go. Communication may not just be verbal. Does he or she pull or tug at their diaper? My son used to pull at his pants everytime he had to go pee or poop. Does he/she make a face or a non verbal signal that they are going in their diaper? If so, then you may be able to start potty training your child.

Making going potty a comfortable situation is absolutely imperative. Do not stress your child out by over encouraging them or threatening them with punishment. If they make an effort to sit down and a genuine attempt to go, they should be praised and rewarded. Find their favorite treat such as an M&M or other piece of candy and offer one as a reward. Do not over reward or make huge promises that you can’t or do not want to keep, as tempting as it may be.

It will be tempting to punish and scold during potty training toddler. Especially when your child goes potty for the first time and then has an accident or two or three. Do not ever scold your child for having an accident it doesn’t help. Stay encouraging and tell him or her to try to go in the potty next time. If you child poops in their pants, take it and put it in the potty, ask the child to flush the toilet. Explain to him or her that that is where poopy goes. Every little bit helps when you potty train child.

In the quest to potty train toddler boys and girls, patience prevails. Don’t push it, it will happen in time.

If you are parents with little kids aged eighteen months or more, the question of potty toilet training your child must have become an impending issue, troubling you majorly. After all, how does one teach a young child toilet habits and manners? As tough as it sounds, potty toilet training is quite an easy job. Not requiring many technicalities, parents looking to potty train their kids should always ensure that this training comes as a natural, easy going process. If turned into a strict training, with special emphasis on the rules, it might in fact scare your child off, clamming him / her up from the entire process altogether. The text to follow will elaborate on the process of teaching your kids proper toilet habits and guide you towards successful potty training of your child.

The first step to potty toilet training

is to judge if the child is actually ready to be potty trained. Simply considering these few key behavioral pointers in your child will help you know if the child is ready:
- The child warns you towards the upcoming bowel movement.
- Has bowel movements around the same time.
- Can keep his/her diaper clean for more than 2 hours.
- Is eager to please you.
- Asks questions about things.
- Understands the toilet terminology.
- Can easily reach the toilet seat or the potty training toilet seat you buy for him/her.
- Can get in and out of the pants on his/her own easily.

If the answer to the above mentioned pointers is in affirmation, start potty toilet training your child. Do not expect, however, to achieve success right from the start. Do not compare your child with other kids. Every child has his/her own learning capacity. While one child may learn potty habits at the age of 18 months, there are others who only manage to learn potty habits at the age of 3 years. Understand your child’s needs. Make sure you make this an interactive and fun exercise. Anything enforced might simply make the child averse to the whole objective of the training.

Potty Training Toilet Seat

Shop for potty training equipment, such as training pants/ pull ups, toilet chair and so on with the child, seeking his/her choice for the same. Ensure that the potty chair is comfortable according to the height of the child. When sitting on the toilet chair, the child needs to have his/her feet on the floor and not in the air. Play potty toilet training videos for him/her and read potty toilet training stories and books. Encourage the child and ensure that you praise him/her every time he makes a successful attempt at going potty. Place the potty chair in close proximity to the child for easy access. This will also aid in the child developing familiarity with the toilet chair. Reward the child every time he/she successfully goes potty. Initially, be there when the child is using the potty chair. Tell him/her the correct way of sitting. Ask the child if he/she has any problems or questions. Eventually, you will rid the child of the habit of using diapers.

These simple steps and observations will ensure for successful potty toilet training and you will have a grown up child by your side.

As their toddlers grow in months, parents start worrying about the right potty training age and time. In plain terms, toddlers begin to develop some toilet sense starting the age of eighteen months, while there are some kids who learn toilet habits after the age of three. All children learn how to potty differently and at different times. Therefore, do not take a decision to start the potty training of your child simply because some other child of his age does. If it is not the right time, you will only delay the process of learning for your child. In order to determine the right potty training age or moment to begin, there are certain parameters that must first be full-filled.

Is the bladder ready? Young kids do not have control over their bladder and bowel muscles. The bladder also is not strong enough to withhold large amounts of urine and hence, the passing of urine occurs in smaller amounts, but more frequently. The right potty training age and time is when your child is able to hold some amount of urine in bladder and has control over the muscle movements. If the child is able to control the urine for two hours or more before peeing, consider your child at the age start potty training. Do not distress if this stage reaches late. Every child differs in terms of development.

Awareness – The next parameter to judge the age to potty train a child is his awareness about peeing and pooping. As children grow, their awareness regarding these matters also increases. While some are able to warn before relieving themselves, others are at least aware of the action. This might show in the kids pointing towards their groin, tugging their pants, pulling their diapers, making of faces or simply verbally expressing the same to you. Once the child develops this awareness, it is easier for him/her to understand the process of peeing or pooping.

Age To Potty Train…

Is the body ready? – The third parameter for judging potty training age is the readiness of the body. This means that the child should be able to walk around the house or small distances. This will facilitate in the child walking himself towards the potty chair. Then again, when the child is able to pull up or down his/her pants, he will be able to learn potty habits faster and in a more efficient manner.

Lastly, is the child ready? Here, we are referring to the child ready psychologically to undergo potty training. Any major changes in the life of the child might hamper in his learning the process. If there are any events such as change of residence, a new baby coming home or any other changes in the life of your toddler, do not commence with the potty training. Wait till you and the toddler, both are completely settled and pressure free as no inhibitions is what makes potty training for toddlers a success.

If you are assertive regarding all the above mentioned parameters, go ahead with the potty training of your child. He is ready and at the perfect potty training age to learn.

You may have certain shivers or apprehensions regarding the process of potty training girls. However, do not distress. Generally, girls are faster learners when it comes to potty training than boys. Therefore, consider yourself lucky and get going as the supportive and friendly parent to your child.

The first step in the process of potty training girls is for you to determine if your girl is ready to be potty trained. Does she show signs like awareness towards the need for relieving herself? Is she curious about the way you pee? Does she have a better control over her bladder and bowel muscles? Answering such questions in the affirmative will make you identify the right time for potty training girls. Something to keep in mind is that starting earlier or later will not matter. If you begin early, her training will take more time and vice versa. Do not, in any way, force her or pressure her for potty training. This will only push her farther away from being potty trained. Then again, begin when there are no major changes happening in the life of your girl – change of residence, new baby coming, etc. – for she will be too overwhelmed to handle any more changes including her potty habits.

Start potty training girls during warm season. It will be better because she will have more freedom of movement and will not be restricted by layers of clothing. The easier it is for your girl to get out of her pants and underwear, the better it will be for the progress of potty training girls.

Potty Training For Girls Is Easier Than You Think

Once you know that your girl is all set to be potty trained, begin by taking her out for shopping for her new potty chair and training diapers. Let her choose the ones she likes. The better she likes her training diaper and potty, the better she will feel when making use of them. Also, ask her to choose panties just for her. If she loves her panties, she will try hard not to soil them by pooping or peeing in them. Buy some picture books and videos demonstrating potty moves and training.

The best way to potty train your child is to make her see you use the toilet. Do not force her to come every time you go to the toilet, but do not refuse if she wants to follow you in. Ridiculous as it may sound, the truth is that girls learn faster by imitating their mothers. If the above method does not suit you, try using your girl’s favorite doll as the demonstration equipment. Demonstrate the potty moves using the doll and a toilet for the doll. Eventually, with her permission, stop using diapers altogether. While there will be more accidents than successes, the progress will improve.

Encourage your girl, even if she has accidents. For every successful attempt on her part to use the potty, praise her. You can even take her out for treats or give her sweets to celebrate her success. One point for you to remember is to never overdo anything – too much praise will make her self conscious, while too little will discourage her. Have lots of patience with her. The progress will be slow. Nevertheless diaper free days will come sooner than you expected.

For most parents, potty training boy comes as a confusing phenomenon. After all, which way should you teach him first – standing or sitting? Understand that first of all, you need to recognize if your child is ready to start potty training. A few pointers that might help you keep a check on the right time for starting with the potty are mentioned below:

- Is your boy aware of his bowel movements?
- Is he able to control the bowel and bladder muscles?
- Does he inform you of the times he has to use the toilet?
- Is there a gap of two hours minimum between the urine passing for him?

If the above questions have a positive answer, your child may be ready for toilet training. Now before you begin with potty training boy, know that boys take longer than girls to learn potty habits. Therefore, do not compare with kids his age and have patience. You have to be there as a constant support for the child and not as a judge.

Now begin by going shopping for a brand new potty for him. Take your boy along so that the potty is of his choice and liking and he is able to associate himself with it. Buy training pants and underwear with his favorite cartoon characters on them. You can also buy illustrated books and videos demonstrating potty moves to the child.

Potty Training For Boys Isn’t Easy…

So how do you go about with the training? While many parents choose to teach the boy both the techniques of sitting and standing simultaneously, it is generally seen that this hampers the understanding of the child. He gets confused about both the ways and messes up altogether. Therefore, the ideal thing is to teach the potty training boy pooping and peeing while sitting. The reason is that this will establish the fact with him that everything – pee or poop – goes into the toilet. Once the child is able to poop and urinate easily in the sitting position, then move on to the task of teaching him the difference. The second step now will be to ask the father, uncle or any other male relative to take the boy along for urinating. When the boy watches his father (preferably) peeing while standing, he too will be interested in following suit. Amongst all this, do not forget to teach him to always lift the toilet seat before peeing.

There will be several mis-hits and accidents. Be prepared to clean up the mess. Never scold the child for an accident. Always be sympathetic and tell him he will do better next time. Encourage him, reward him and praise him for every one successful attempt. However, make sure you do not over do the same. It is also helpful to try using the urine guard on his potty chair. This will prevent the urine from falling on all sides. However, make sure that the child does not hurt his penis from the urine guard.

While the process will take time, potty training boys will learn potty habits soon enough and relieve you from the pain and stress of cleaning up after accidents and changing diapers.

Potty training toddler boys and girls can be one of the most stressful periods in your child’s development. Some toddlers are quick to catch on and you may have an easy time, but for many of us it can be a struggle. This website provides you information and guides that can help you get through the process and decrease the stress you may be feeling.

Worried about how hard it can be potty training toddler? Take heart and do not distress. Difficult though it may seem, it can be quite simple. For all those parents looking forward to potty training their toddlers, here is a little piece of advice. The key to success lies in patience and understanding.

Know the right time

Before you begin with the training, however, be sure that your toddler is ready. If he shows signs such as, pulling on his pants when wanting to empty his bowels, informing you when he’s feeling like pooping or peeing, has better control over his bladder and bowel muscles or is interested about the way other family members use toilet – know that your toddler is ready for potty training.

Apart from this, also make sure that the timing is comfortable for the toddler. If there are any major changes happening in his/her life (new baby coming, change of residence, new school, etc.), this might disrupt the process. Therefore, do not begin training out of any compulsion or pressure as it may have a forbearing effect on the success of the overall training.

Potty training toddlers in the Beginning

The first step to potty training your toddlers is to buy the right equipment. This includes the potty chair itself (which should be of the right size and height), the training pants or pull ups and a few potty training books, videos and stickers to encourage your toddler. Inviting your toddler to choose the potty chair and pants of his liking will help in developing his interest in the same.

Start explaining to the toddler certain words associated with potty training such as potty, poop, pee, toilet and so on. Thus, it will be easier for him/her to understand the whole exercise. Put up charts explaining the right way to use the potty, make him/her watch videos on potty training, read to the potty training toddler and so on.

Provide your toddler with lots of fluids to facilitate frequent bowel and liquid passage. The more practice, the faster progress. Look for signs that your toddler shows around the time he has to empty his bowel. By the time potty training begins, most toddlers begin showing fixed times for pooping, be on a look out for signs such as passing of gas, making faces, pulling at pants, tugging at diapers and so on. Immediately ask the toddler to sit on the potty and go about with the process.

Conditioning your child

Remember, however, toddlers cannot control their bowel and bladder muscles for more than a few seconds. Several accidents will occur. However, never scold or lose your cool with the child. This will only discourage him. Instead, tell him that he is beginning to learn and will do better next time. Encourage the toddler by bringing him gifts and praising him every time he is successful in his attempt.

Children have short attention span and might not even notice that they are peeing or pooping. Simply give them time. Do not expect them to learn from day one. Their old conditioning of diapers and zero control might take over once or twice even after they have learned the entire process. Let it pass and encourage the child to use the potty next time.

Before long, you will have a completely potty trained toddler playing, while you rest in peace.
